About us

PETG started in 2011 in Epping, Cape Town, with a simple aim: supply dependable PETG sheet and filament that arrives ready for work. We serve makers, workshops and production teams across South Africa with careful cutting, practical advice and steady support.

About us

Built in Epping for real workshop work

PETG grew out of day-to-day experience with material that had to perform under pressure. In manufacturing, design and prototyping, there is little room for sheet that warps, filament that prints inconsistently, or cuts that are off by a few millimetres. From our base in Epping, Cape Town, we focus on PETG that is suited to the way South African businesses actually work, whether that is a single prototype, a short production run, or a repeat order for the same part.

Our base in Cape Town gives us practical reach. Customers collect from Epping and nearby areas such as Montague Gardens, Bellville, Parow, Somerset West, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Claremont, while filament is couriered nationwide. That mix matters because some jobs need local turnaround and others need stock sent to a site, workshop or home studio without fuss.

What we supply and why it matters

We work with PETG because it is a strong, useful material for day-to-day applications. It suits signage, guards, prototypes, covers, fabrication components and printed parts that need better impact resistance than basic materials can offer. In coastal areas like Cape Town, Somerset West and Stellenbosch, customers also appreciate materials that handle humidity better than many alternatives and still hold their shape when used properly.

Our sheet and filament range is chosen for consistent performance. We do not treat materials as a one-size-fits-all choice. Instead, we help customers match thickness, size and finish to the job at hand, so the end result is easier to work with and less wasteful.

  • PETG sheets for fabrication, displays and protective panels
  • 3D-printing filament for practical prototypes and final-use parts
  • Options for clean handling, tighter tolerances and repeat orders
  • Support for both professional workshops and smaller makers

How we cut, pack and prepare orders

A good material is only useful if it arrives in the right shape. That is why we offer straight cuts, custom sizing, strip cutting, panel cutting, small batch cutting and large batch cutting. We also do hole marking, edge deburring, film left on where needed, courier packing and job labelling. These steps save time on site and reduce the chance of rework later.

For many customers, especially fabricators and production teams, that preparation is the difference between a smooth day and a delayed one. A sheet that is cut properly and labelled clearly can go straight to the next stage. In a busy workshop, that kind of order helps keep everyone moving.

  • Straight Cuts for simple, repeatable dimensions
  • Custom Sizing for unusual openings or project-specific panels
  • Edge Deburring for safer handling and cleaner finishing
  • Hole Marking to speed up installation and assembly
  • Film Left On where surface protection is needed during transit or processing

The way we work with customers

We keep communication practical and direct. Customers reach us through the enquiry form on our contact page, and from there we work through the details needed to quote or confirm a job. If a customer is unsure about thickness, cut size or suitability for a specific use, we give clear material advice based on the application rather than vague recommendations.

Our team knows that many buyers are balancing cost, time and quality at the same time. A design studio in Claremont may need neatly cut sheets for presentation pieces, while a production floor in Bellville may need a batch that is sorted, packed and ready for the next shift. We try to meet the job where it is, not where a catalogue assumes it should be.

People behind the counter and the cutter

PETG is run by a small team that understands both the material and the pressure of deadlines. Morne van Rensburg leads the business as Managing Director, with Ayanda Mkhize handling sales, Jared Petersen overseeing production, Zanele Ndlovu leading customer support, Ruan Botha on cutting, and Tumi Molefe coordinating logistics. That structure keeps the process tight from first enquiry to final handover or courier dispatch.

Because each order passes through people who know their part, mistakes are caught early and handover is better managed. It also means customers speak to someone who can answer properly, not just pass the message along. That matters when a job has a fixed install date or a courier collection needs to land on time.

Values that guide every order

We aim to keep things steady, useful and honest. That means suggesting the right material for the job, cutting to the sizes agreed, packing with care and avoiding unnecessary complications. It also means treating small orders with the same attention as larger ones, because a single prototype can be just as important as a batch of fifty.

Our work is shaped by a few simple standards:

  • Reliability in supply and communication
  • Careful cutting and sensible handling of sheet and filament
  • Advice that is practical, not overcomplicated
  • Respect for deadlines, collections and courier schedules
  • Support for both trade users and individual makers

South African customers deal with real constraints such as load-shedding, transport delays and site access rules, so we try to make our side of the process predictable. If the material is ready, labelled and packed well, the rest of the job becomes easier.
